Pronoun Tables

Below are links to some interactive pronominal prefix tables. There are three sets of tables: one for subjective/agent (red) prefixes, one for objective/patient (blue) prefixes, and another for transitive (purple) prefixes. To see the different forms that these pronouns can take depending on the first letter of the verb stem that they attach to, click on the dropdown menu and choose the stem type you’re looking for (C-stem, A-stem, etc.).

To read the subjective and objective prefix tables, look in the left column to find the person (2SG = second person singular, or “you,” 1SG = first person singular, or “I”, etc.) and then look to the right to find the pronoun that corresponds to that person. To see how these pronouns vary based on the stem of the verb they attach to, click on the dropdown menu next to “select stem” and choose the stem that you are looking for.

To read the transitive prefix tables, first locate the subject, or agent, of the verb in the red column on the left. Then locate the object, or patient, of the verb in the blue row at the top. Find the box where the two intersect to locate the prefix you’re looking for. For example, if you wanted to find the prefix for he>me, first find the MSG box in the red subject column and then go across to the 1SG box in the blue object column to find the prefix rake-.
