Learning Kanien’kéha pronouns through stories

These stories were created by Kanontienéntha’ Brass and translated by Mary Onwá:ri Tekahawáhkwen McDonald, with support from Sophia Flaim, Genevieve Kam, Ava Gilmour, and Abigail Wolfensohn.

“We created these stories with the objective to utilize almost all C-stem transitive pronouns whilst providing illustrations to create clear visual context.
The story is meant for anyone who wishes to learn Kanien’kéha transitive pronouns as well as parents with young children who wish to read them a bed-time story.
At the end of each story, we have created a linguistic appendix for anyone looking for extra learning resources concerning transitive pronouns, as well as a few exercise pages that go along with the story to test knowledge of the pronouns.”
